Hi, I'm Fiona and welcome to my UX Design report blog!

I've been in the technology industry for several years.

Initially as a freelance graphic designer, and online fashion brand owner.

I am now an eCommerce Specialist. Managing and designing for an events and printing company based in Vancouver, Canada. I work across eCommerce platforms including Amazon, Shopify and Wordpress. I'm here to tell my story about entering the UX Design industry and how I approach the course I just started in Dublin.

This blog will contain reports on my classes, projects and what I'm learning along the way. If you'd like to expand your personal knowledge on the topic and follow along, here are some great resources for you to check out and join the conversation;

I was super excited signing up for the UX + Front End Development course in the Dublin Institute of Design. This is a classroom based 2 x 3 hour lectures a week Associate Certificate. There are so few options out there in this type of structure. I had researched weekend workshops - none were ongoing, affordable and they didn't promise any form of tangible results. I had attempted online courses. Which are an amazing and affordable resource. However, working remotely alone, I found I was becoming increasingly isolated and a lot of the questions I had around the UX design went unanswered. There's a lot to be said about the value of learning with peers and having an in person mentor. Kudos to the Institute of Design Dublin for filling a big gap in the education market. Stay tuned!
