Peter Morville’s UX Honeycomb is a visualization tool that depicts the 7 aspects of the user experience. It is a standard response to the question “what constitutes a good experience?”.
To understand the Honeycomb properly, I want to refresh my understanding of what these seven words really mean. Definitions help me to stay on point.
So let's go ahead and get 'em;
Valuable - a thing that is of great worth
Desirable - wished for as being an attractive, useful, or necessary course of action
Credible - able to be believed; convincing
Useful - able to be used for a practical purpose or in several ways.
Findable - available, able to be found easily
Usable - able or fit to be used
Accessible - able to be reached
Karagianni adds an emotive later to this by categorizing the aspects;
Think:
What do users think about the product?
Is it useful?
Is it valuable?
Do they find it credible?
Feel:
How do people feel about the product?
Do they find it desirable?
Also, do they feel it’s credible?
Use:
When it comes to actually using the product, is it findable?
Is it accessible and usable?
UX is a broad topic, and so are aspects in this honeycomb. It all depends on the project you're working on. By referring to something like the honeycomb you can minimize over sights and at the same time inspire brain storm sessions. I think it's a great resource!
